Bicycle Wayfinding System Graz / Styria

As part of the Bicycle Master Plan Radoffensive 2030, a wayfinding system is currently being implemented. Artgineering investigated different user needs and possibilities and defined a new standardized approach for Graz and the Styrian region.

Essential information is provided in a safe and user-oriented manner through ground markings on streets and paths, combining a bicycle symbol, coordinated route numbering, and direction indicators within a coloured block. This enhances both visibility and safety.

In Graz, two main cycle routes have already been marked using the new wayfinding system, along with other pilot implementations in the surrounding region. Additional signposts providing information on destinations and distances complete the concept of an intuitive cycling system for urban and peri-urban areas.
